My opinion page addressing inquiries concerning clawhammer technique.
My advise on a "practice schedule" is pretty simple: just pick up your banjo and play something everyday, even if it's only for a few minutes...
Let your mood at the time you play determine the length of your practice session. If you aren't "feeling it", then cut it short; you don't want the time spent with your banjo to feel like work. Other times you will not want to put the banjo down and might spend hours playing. My philosophy is to play everyday, but make sure that you always relax and enjoy the time you spend playing; it should never feel like something you have to check off of your "to do" list for the day...
