Is there an easy way for me to arrange a harmony banjo part without having to learn music theory?

Dealing with the various intervals involved in working out harmony parts can be confusing. An easier approach (and one that is theoretically correct) would be to:

  • Hum (or sing) a harmony to what you perceive to be the main melody notes (not every note) in the "first banjo" part.

  • Create your new "second banjo" part by building a new solo around the harmony notes you've just hummed!

  • Don't worry about the other notes (bum-dittys, etc.) just focus on the notes you found while humming...
