Mike Iverson has spent some 35 years working to blend American folk music with his western heritage. Together with wife Shauna and fiddle player Rob Ricks, the trio forms Blue Sage - a group that specializes in the western folk blend Iverson has long adored.
Live at the Junction Theater offers mix of instrumental music and heart-tugging ballads that will surely draw listeners. There's nothing like the sounds produced by good fiddle and banjo players, and fans of the instruments get plenty of both in this release. From the opening "Ashoken Farewell" to "Fiddle Tune Medley", there are plenty of strong instrumental offerings. The trio also takes on the old classic "Night Rider's Lament", and their rendition stands up against any of the thousands of other recordings of this old tune.
